In today’s Cape Town, the old Miriam Lichterman lives in the old Jewish quarter. The white elderly woman who has survived the Nazi’s death camps has found freedom in South Africa under apartheid. But the role of the victim is not played by her anymore but by another woman, a black lady who works for her as a maid. The ‘romantic’ notion of racial purity and selection connects past Nazism with yesterday’s Apartheid.
