Almost four months after its world premiere at IDFA, Andreas Johnsen’s Danish documentary Ai Weiwei-the Fake Case is going to air in Denmark on March 4 and another seven territories will follow.

The intimate portrait of the famous Chinese contemporary artist and political activist won a Bodil this year for Best Documentary from the Danish film critics and attended several world festivals since last November. Helene Aurø, Deputy Head of DR Sale said: "The film is a good example of how we manage to pre-sell films and drama series to foreign TV stations. This is the case here with the British pubcaster BBC, Swedish SVT, Norwegian NRK, Australian SBS and the TV station RTS in French-speaking part of Switzerland. They’ve all said they would show the film, while Poland and Croatia have bought it, "she said.

The film was produced by Danish Documentary Production in coproduction with Rosforth Films, with support among others from the Danish Film Institute, DR and Nordisk Film & TV Fond. The film will next screen at Stockholm’s Tempo Documentary Festival and at Tampere Film Festival early March.
