In its December round of production support Nordisk Film & TV Fond has allocated NOK5.3 million to five features, documentary films and TV series. The largest grant of NOK 2 million was allocated to Miso Film’s new Nordic noir Anne Holt-Modus Operandi adapted by Danish writing duo Mai Brostrøm and Peter Thorsboe.

A strong Scandinavian crew comprising concept director Lisa Siwe (pictured The Bridge), concept DoP Linda Wassberg (The Legacy), set decorator Ulrika von Vegesack (Iron Sky), costume designer Cilla Rörby (Millennium trilogy) and editor Michal Leszcztlowski (Arne Dahl/The Sacrifice) are attached to this eight part series based on Norwegian crime author Anne Holt’s Vik/Stubø novels.

Sandra Harms is producing for Miso Film, in co-production with TV4 Sweden and Germany’s Nadcon. Rights have already been snatched by ZDF, TV2 Denmark, TV2 Norway, RUV for Iceland and Lumière for Benelux. World sales are handled by Freemantle International. 

The Norwegian kids and youth series Trio-The Kepler Diamonds (10x25’) produced by NordicStories’s Jeanette Sundby was awarded NOK 1.3 million. The mystery show written by Morten Hovland and Trond Sindre Hotvedt will start production in March. Co-producers include Fabelaktiv, NDR and NRK. Other Nordic broadcasters involved comprise SVT, DR and Svenska YLE. The series will premiere in January 2016, precisely two years after the Gullruten winning first season Trio-Odin’s Gold. Season two Trio-Cyber Gold now airing on NDR.

The Finnish feature film Greetings from Moscow (Tuliaiset Moskovasta) produced by Zodiak Finland was awarded NOK1.3 million. Based on news anchor Matti Rönkä’s eponymous novel about investigator Viktor Kärppä, the Lauri Nurkse film will be distributed by Nordisk Film.

The Swedish documentary MonaLisa Story (pictured) produced by Jessica Nettelbladt (Lejoni Production AB) was awarded NOK400,000. The film follows the transformation over eight years of a woman who against all odds tries to break her pattern of destruction. Co-producers are Denmark’s Magic Hour Films and Norway’s True Fictions.

The Danish documentary Venus produced by Jesper Jack and Julie Leerskov (House of Real) was awarded NOK 300,000. The film is based on directors Lea Glob (Nordic Talents winner 2011) and Mette Carla Albrechtsen’s sexual frustrations about growing up in the supposedly liberated Danish society and their desire to confront their own erotic identities.
