Rival Scandinavian groups Nordisk Film and Svensk Filmindustri have each inked three-year partnerships with the commercially-oriented production companies Miso Film and StellaNova respectively.

Thanks to its new partnership with Copenhagen-based Miso Film, Nordisk Film will have access to the company’s full feature and television line up for Scandinavian distribution and will board the projects at development stage. Projects part of the deal comprise the character-driven crime series from Norway Acquitted (10x45’) starring Nikolaj Cleve Broch and Lena Endre (pictured) as well as the Swedish TV series Vik/Stubø based on Anne Holt’s crime novels adapted for the screen by writing duo Peter Thorsboe and Mai Brostrøm.

Feature films also in the distribution package include the Swedish film 438 Days written by Peter Birro based on Johan Persson and Martin Schibbye’s bestselling novel about their incarceration in an Ethiopian prison, and the family film Iqbal Farooq based on Manu Sareen’s children’s books. TrustNordisk will sell the above titles as well as Miso Film’s upcoming Danny’s Doomsday by Martin Barnewitz and Long Story Short.

Svensk Filmindustri’s deal with Lena Rehnberg’s StellaNova Film includes the producer’s upcoming romantic comedy Love is a Drug starring Izabella Scoruppo, planned for a Christmas release in Sweden. StellaNova was behind last year’s Swedish box office hit Waltz for Monica.
