Zentropa has started production this week on the new Danish drama The Day Will Come that reunites the creator and key cast of The Killing, respectively screenwriter Søren Sveistrup and actors Sophie Gråbøl and Lars Mikkelsen (pictured). Nordisk Film & TV Fond has supported the film directed by Jesper W. Nielsen.

 Based on true events, The Day will Come (Der kommer en dag) is a David vs Goliath story of two brothers aged 10 and 13, fighting for survival in a Danish orphanage in mid-1960s. Lars Mikkelsen plays the tyrannical headmaster and Gråbøl one of the teachers. Other key cast members comprise newcomers Harald Kaiser Hermann and Albert Rudbeck Lindhardt as the two young brothers, David Dencik, Lars Ranthe and Sonja Richter. The DKK31.6m/€4.2m project is produced by Zentropa’s Peter Aalbæk Jensen, Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Louise Vesth. Nordisk Film Distribution handles Nordic distribution and TrustNordisk world sales. Delivery is set for spring 2016.
