DR Sales headed by Managing Director Anders Kjærsgaard and Deputy MD Helene Aurø are coming to MIPCOM with a new sales executive – Louise Juel Severin (pictured) - responsible for the company’s new Format Sales division.

So far DR’s non-scripted formats with international potential were handled externally. The decision to do it in-house is a strategic move for the Danish pubcaster’s sales arm, as explained by Anders Kjærsgaard.

“At DR Sales we are determined to continuously build on our position as the number one powerhouse for Nordic Noir and Scandi Rights. At our stand [R7-D19], the world will already find the best and the finest of Nordic ready-mades and scripted formats. It is only logical that we now move in and take the same position within non-scripted formats." he says.

Helene Aurø continues: “Basically we can now have a better control of all the marketing and branding of our content and reap the benefits of the synergies existing between the different genres. This step also comes at the right time for the company as the explosion of TV outlets has increased buyers’ interest in quality content and Nordic noir and TV dramas continue to thrive."

Six new formats ranging from prime time entertainment (Quiz of the Year!) to factual entertainment and prime time children’s programmes (Ramasjang’s Mysteriet/Who is the Thief?) will be launched at MIPCOM.
