Iceland’s biggest local hit of 2014 Life in a Fishbowl (pictured) by Baldvin Z and Paris of the North by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson are leading this year’s Icelandic Edda film and television awards with 12 nods each.

The two films are competing for Best Film, Director, Main Actor, Script, Cinematography, Editing, Music, Costume, Sound and Production Design. 

Olaf de Fleur’s City State sequel Brave Men’s Blood collected four nominations including Best Film. In the Directing category, Swedish first timer Maximilian Hult gets a chance to win an EDDA for the Swedish/Icelandic co-production Hemma

The four part crime drama The Cliff 2 produced by Pegasus received four nominations for Best TV Fiction, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress and Special Effects while Sagafilm’s The Girls 5 got two nods for Best TV Fiction and Supporting Actress.

In the documentary section, Salomé by Yrsa Roca Fannberg -awarded Best Nordic Doc at Nordisk Panorama 2014-  is competing against Impact and Ó borg min borg Chicago.
 
The Icelandic Film & TV Academy will host its annual Edda awards ceremony on February 21 in Reykjavik.
