Jonas Holmberg, the festival’s new artistic director said: “The Norwegian focus will form a broad panorama of the Nordic film country that has perhaps taken the greatest step forward in recent years, both with regards to artistry and reaching audiences."
The country’s greatest film ambassador, actress/director Liv Ullmann (pictured) will be on hand to receive the 2015 Nordic Honorary Dragon Award. Norwegian films to be screened in Göteborg comprise Ullmann’s Miss Julie, Norway’s Oscar contribution 1001 Grams, Hans Petter Moland’s In Order of Disappearance and this year’s biggest BO hit Burning.
The Norwegian Focus will also include a retrospective of Norwegian classics and a live concert of the award-winning indie pop band Team Me.
At the TV Drama Vision to be spread for the first time over two full days (Wednesday January 28 and Thursday January 29), Norwegian Drama series will also be in the spotlight, such as the works in progress Acquitted and Occupied both set to air in 2015 on TV2 Norway. Anne Kolbørnsen, Head of Scripted Content at Rubicon TV (Lilyhammer) will be one of the key speakers, alongside UK producer Andy Harries (UK Wallander), and transmedia producer Nuno Bernardo.
Other highlights of TV Drama Vision include a case study of the English language crime series 100 Code to be introduced by Red Arrow International’s Tim Gerhartz and Kanal 5’s Jon Petersson, and a presentation of the Italian political thriller 1992 set to air on Sky Italia.
The full programme of the Göteborg Film Festival, TV Drama Vision and Nordic Film Market will be in announced mid-January 2015.
