PRESS RELEASE: Oslo 14.05.2013 - Palmquist (pictured) will join SVT as Commissioning Editor for Drama November 1, 2013.

The Board of Directors of Nordisk Film & TV Fond today announced that Hanne Palmquist will step down as Chief Executive Officer on November 1, 2013 when she will join the Swedish broadcasting corporation SVT as Commissioning Editor for Drama. 

Danish born Palmquist has been CEO of Oslo-based Nordisk Film & TV Fond since January 2007. Before joining the Fund, she was Head of International Sales at TV2 World, Denmark. Her previous positions include Producer at Denmark’s Fine & Mellow, Nordic Acquisition Manager at Nordisk Film, Head of PR at Zentropa as well as International Sales at Trust Film Sales. She also worked at the Danish Film Institute and Filmkontakt Nord. Hanne Palmquist holds a Master Degree in Culture and Aesthetics and a Bachelor in World Literature.

Hanne Palmquist said: “Being the CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond has been a challenging and rewarding experience. I have enjoyed every moment of working with a great staff, collaborators and partners. Today I feel that the Nordic film and television industries are even more vibrant and successful than when I joined Nordisk Film & TV Fond and the Fund has played an important part in this continuous positive process. However time has come for me to move on. SVT is one of the key media players in the Nordic region and some of their latest TV dramas such as Real Humans and The Bridge have been major international hits. I’m very much looking forward to joining the SVT team as Commissioning Editor for Drama.”

Claus Ladegaard, Chairman of the Board at Nordisk Film & TV Fond and Head of Production and Development at the Danish Film Institute said: “Hanne Palmquist has done a remarkable job as CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond. She has with great strength and enthusiasm developed the Nordic collaboration within production and distribution these last seven years, and been part of the overall progress for film and TV from the region. She is leaving the Fund in a very good shape. The Board will start the search for her successor this week.”

Established in 1990, Nordisk Film & TV Fond has an annual budget of approximately DKK 80 million. The Fund is supported financially by the Nordic Council of Ministers, the five Nordic film institutes and 12 Nordic television channels. The Fund’s primary purpose is to promote film and TV productions of high quality in the five Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden), by providing top-up financing for feature films, TV-fiction/series and creative documentaries.
