The Managing Directors of Svensk Filmindustri in Denmark - Michael Fleischer, and in Norway - Guttorm Petterson are to leave the Scandinavian major ‘due to organisational changes and the centralisation of certain business-related functions’ within the group, according to an official announcement made on Tuesday.

Fleischer was responsible for SF Film’s theatrical and home entertainment distribution activities since 2000 and was associated to high profile projects such as Bille August’s film Marie Krøyer and the TV series Rita and Seaside Resort (Badehotellet). Petterson has managed SF Norge since 1999, supervising the theatrical arm and some local co-productions such as the Varg Veum crime series.

Commenting on Fleischer and Petterson’s departure, Svensk Filmindustri’s CEO Jonas Fors said:
“It is currently a very exciting, challenging and transformative time for the industry and as a company we are well positioned to meet these challenges. We have formed a new strong management team, we are stepping up our production activities, we are developing the distribution teams and increasing our marketing activities. Now that Michael and Guttorm are leaving the company, we wish them the very best of luck in their future endeavours.”

Under Svensk’s new organisation and centralised management in Sweden, the regional offices in the Nordic region will be run by ‘Country Managers’: Lars Bjørn Hansen in Denmark, Bente Hagen Stokke in Norway, and Lars Warelius in Finland who have worked for the group as Financial Officers.

Svensk Filmindustri has also appointed three local Sales and Marketing Managers who will report to Stockholm-based Antti Toiviainen, Nordic Head of Sales and Distribution for SF. The new executives are Martin Brandtler in Sweden, Thomas Schultz in Denmark and Timo Räisänen in Finland. Toiviainen will cover Norway until the appointment of a new Sales & Marketing Manager.
