The international division of the media powerhouse Zodiak Media has hired Ole Steen Stolberg (pictured) as VP of Sales Scandinavia, making it the first time the group has a Scandinavian sales base.

Stolberg will join Zodiak Rights in January from his current position of Sales & Acquisitions Director for Nordic World. He will be based at Zodiak Media’s Danish brand Mastiff and will work closely with the other local production companies part of the group (such as Yellow Bird and Jarowskij) to increase sales activity for the Nordic region.

Tim Mutimer, CEO, Zodiak Rights said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Ole on board for the New Year. This role allows us to give real focus to the key Scandinavia region and also means that we can increase our activity selling locally produced shows from the Zodiak Media Group within the region.”

Among the Nordic titles currently on Zodiak Rights’ catalogue is the Norwegian/French co-production Occupied (10X45’) based on an original script by best-selling author Jo Nesbø. The multi-layered political suspense thriller from show-runner Erik Skoldbjærg is set to air late 2015 on TV2 Norway and Arte.

The UK/Swedish co-production Wallander (3X90’) featuring Kenneth Branagh as crime inspector Kurt Wallander is currently filming. BBC1 will air it in the UK and TV4 in Sweden. Sweden’s Yellow Bird is producing both series.
