Producer Maria Nordenberg, director Simon Kaijser and actors Adam Pålsson and Marie Richardson who collaborated on the successful Swedish TV drama Don’t Ever Wipe Tears Without Gloves are back together for the crime drama Innan vi dör (Before we Die) that starts filming on November 25 for B-Reel.

The ten-part drama is written by Niklas Rockström (episodic writer on Thicker than Water) and Wilhelm Behrman. Simon Kaijser who most recently worked on the BBC drama Life in Squares, is creative director.

Maria Richardsson plays Hanna who is no longer the star of the Stockholm police unit for organized crime. At home she has no more family life since her son who just served a two-year prison sentence for drug possession has cut all ties with her as she was the one who caused his arrest. When Hanna's lover and colleague Sven is kidnapped, she has to take over the undercover investigation about a criminal bikers’ gang that he was overseeing and protect an infiltrator. Ultimately, to prevent a brutal take over in the underworld she has to fight for her son’s life and break a family to save her own. The male roles are played by Adam Pålsson and Alexej Manvelov.

The TV drama is produced by Nordenberg and Fredrik Heining for B-Reel in co-production with SVT, ZDF and Stockholm Film Region-Mälardalen / Film Capital Stockholm. ZDF Enterprises handles world sales. Susanne Müller, head of acquisitions and co-production for ZDF Enterprises said: “We are convinced by the concept, the promising actors and world class scripts. We look forward to helping the TV series reach TV audiences.” The premiere on SVT1 is scheduled for spring 2017.

ZDF Enterprises recently added to its portfolio SVT’s other TV drama Viva Hate (Anagram Film & TV), winner of a Prix Europa for Best European TV fiction or mini-series.
