A record number of Nordic TV dramas are taking part in the 55th Monte-Carlo Television Festival and its Golden Nymphs competition programme unspooling June 13-18, 2015.

The Danish epic drama 1864 (Miso Film) is vying for Best Mini-series and two of its key cast members Jens Sætter-Lassen and Sarah-Sofie Boussnina are nominated for Best Actor and Best Actress. 

In the Comedy TV series category three out of six nominees are from the Nordic region. Denmark’s Bankerot/Broke (DR Drama), Norway’s Lilyhammer Season 3 (Rubicon TV) and Sweden’s Welcome to Sweden (Flx/Entertainment One/Syskon). Lilyhammer’s charismatic lead Steven van Zandt who grabbed last year a Golden Nymph for his performance in the show, gets another chance to grab a statuette. He will compete against his fellow US citizen turned actor/creator of a Scandi series-Greg Poehler (Welcome to Sweden). Poehler’s Swedish girlfriend in the series - Josephine Bornebusch gets a nod for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.

In the Drama series category Badehotellet/Seaside Hotel (SF Film) is competing against top international series House of Cards, Gomorra, Happy Valley, The Fall and Happy Child.

Finally Sweden’s Uppdrag Granskning: Naken på nätet/Naked on the Net (SVT) is running for Best Current Affairs Documentary.
