In its June round of support Nordisk Film & TV Fond has allocated NOK 12,780,000 to 12 films – including five documentaries. The largest grants were handed out to Henrik Ruben Genz’s period film Tordenskiold får hund and the crime/mystery TV series Jordskott respectively.

The feature projects supported received the following grants:

Tordenskiold får hund NOK2.250.000
Danish director Henrik Ruben Genz’s historical comedy drama is produced by Lars Bredo Rahbek (Nimbus Film, DK). Filming is set to start later this year. SF handles the domestic release. 

Framing Mom NOK1,700,000
Norwegian director Sara Johnsen’s film about a female TV journalist helping a 16 year-old girl find her biological mother starts filming in December for Turid Øversveen (4½ production, NO). Germany’s The Match Factory is co-producer and sales agent.

A War (Krigen) NOK1,600,000
Danish director Tobias Lindholm’s A War stars Pilou Asbæk as a soldier put on trial upon his return from tour of duty in Afghanistan. Filming is set to start in September. Tomas Radoor is producing (Nordisk Film Production, DK). Nordisk Film handles the domestic release and Studio Canal world sales.

The Giant NOK1,000,000
Swedish first time director Johannes Nyholm starts filming next month his comedy drama about an autistic and severely deformed man who escapes into an imaginary world. Maria Dahlin (Garagefilm, SE) is producing with Morten Kjems Juhl (Beofilm DK). TriArt handles domestic distribution and Indie Sales world sales.

Gold Coast (Guldkysten) NOK1,000,000
Danish documentary filmmaker Daniel Dencik’s first fiction film focuses on Denmark’s participation in the slave trade. Filming is currently undergoing in Ghana. Michael Haslund-Christensen is producing (Haslund Film, DK). SF Film will release it domestically.
Pojkarna NOK1,000,000
Swedish director Alexandra-Therese Keining tackles sexual identity in Pojkarna (‘Boys’) based on Jessica Schiefauer’s novel. Helena Wirenhed is producing (Götafilm, SE).Filming starts on August 25. Nordisk Film handles the domestic release and The Yellow Affair world sales.

The Swedish TV series Jordskott by Henrik Björn produced by Palladium Film was granted NOK2,250,000 (see other story).
