In its April round of production support, Nordisk Film & TV Fond has granted NOK5.5 million to the Danish feature film Idealisten by Christina Rosendahl (Triple Dare) and to three TV series including the Norwegian supernatural crime show Det tredje Øyet (‘The Third Eye’ - pictured) produced by Rubicon TV (Lilyhammer).

Det Tredje øyet was awarded the largest production grant of NOK1,750,000. Concept director Trygve Allister Disen (Red, Torpedo) will direct some of the 12 episodes alongside Gunnar Vikene (Vegas). It’s the story of police detective Viggo (Kyrre Haugen Sandnes from Headhunters) trying to locate his missing daughter, while solving other cases. Producer Ole Marius Araldsen is co-writer with Kjersti Ugelstad. Filming is underway and TV2 will air it in 2014. Shine International handles world distribution. 

The 11x7’ Swedish kids series Krakel Spektakel (Annabell Olsson’s Spectacularities) produced by Filmlance International was granted NOK1,250,000. The musical adventure show is based on Lennart Hellsing’s popular fiction character Annabell Olsson who is looking for the Wizard who turned himself into a glass of lemonade and drank himself up. After 700 years the spell may finally be about to be broken. Elisabeth Gustafsson is directing.

The feature film version will be released domestically by SF in February 2014.

The 6x14’ Finnish kids show Jill and Joy produced by Zodiak Finland for YLE is based on a children’s book about two eight year-old  girls whose summer become full of adventure when they find an envelope full of money and end up buying a house custom-made for them. The show directed by Saara Cantell (Heartbeats) was granted NOK1,000,000.

The feature film Idealisten produced by Signe Leick Jensen (Marie Krøyer, The Boss of It All) for Toolbox Film was granted NOK 1,500,000. The project is based on the true story of a journalist who investigated the Danish government’s double standards during the Cold War and its handling of a disastrous nuclear accident when a US B52 plane crashed near Thule Air Base in 1968.
