The Commune produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Morten Kaufmann for Zentropa was granted NOK2.2 million. The Danish project reunites Vinterberg with writer Tobias Lindholm who successfully collaborated in the past on The Hunt and Submarino. The story focuses on the clash between personal desires versus the solidarity and tolerance in a commune in the mid-70s. Casting is yet to be announced. Filming is scheduled to start later this year. Nordisk Film handles Scandinavian distribution and TrustNordisk world sales.
The Icelandic TV drama The Trapped (10x60’) produced by Magnus Vidar Sigurdsson for RVK Studios was granted NOK 2.7 million. Based on an idea by Kormákur and written by Sigurjón Kjartansson and Clive Bradley, the 10x60’ crime drama follows the investigation of a grisly murder of a man found in the water shortly after a ferry carrying 300 passengers from Denmark arrives in a small town at the bottom of a fjord. Shortly after, a powerful blizzard hits the town, making the only road in or out impassable. The most ambitious Icelandic TV series ever was commissioned by RUV and co-financed by DR. Dynamic Television is co-producing and handling world distribution. Filming is scheduled to start later this year.
Nordisk Film & TV Fond also provided distribution and dubbing support to Kinoscreen Illusion for the Finnish release of Antboy, to Europa Film for the Norwegian release of Life in a Fishbowl, to Nordisk Film Distribution for the Swedish release of Moomins on the Riviera, to Øst for Paradis for the Danish release of The Optimists and to Arthaus for the Norwegian release of Force Majeure.
