Dome Karukoski's box office hit Lapland Odyssey produced by Helsinki Filmi won four top prizes at the annual Jussi Finnish Film Awards while Tobias Lindholm and Michael Noer's drama R produced by Nordisk Film dominated the ?Robert' Danish film awards 2011.

Lapland Odyssey scooped Best Film, Director, Screenplay and the Audience award. The comedy has sold nearly 360,000 admissions in Finland and opened wide this week in France.

Jalmari Helander's debut film Rare Exports-A Christmas Tale won six Jussis in the leading technical categories, including Best Cinematography (Mika Orasmaa). Ville Virtanen won Best Actor for Bad Family and Katja Küttner Best Actress for Princess. Run Sister Run got one Jussi for Supporting Actress Sara Melleri. Joonas Berghäll and Mika Hotakainen's Steam of Life scooped Best Documentary Film. Nordisk Film & TV Fond was associated to 13 out of 15 potential awards.

The Danish Film Academy gave eight Roberts to the prison drama R which received just a few days earlier the prestigious Dreyer Award for cinematic excellence.

Among the awards were Best Film, Direction, Script and Leading Actor (2011 Shooting Star Pilou Asbæk). Thomas Vinterberg's Submarino, winner of the Nordic Council Film Prize 2010 collected five awards including Best Supporting Actor (Peter Plauborg) and Best Song (‘Riverside' by Agnes Obel).

Susanne Bier's Golden Globe winner and Academy award-nominated In a Better World won a Robert for leading actress Trine Dyrholm. Hold Me Tight was voted Best Children and Youth Film, Zentropa's comedy hit Clown-the Movie (over 828,000 admissions in Denmark) grabbed the Audience Award, and Janus Metz's multi-awarded Armadillo received the Best Documentary award. Jan Lehmann, managing director of Nordisk Film Distribution received an Honorary Robert.
