Yesterday major new recruits were announced at the Danish Film Institute: senior film and TV executive Hanne Palmquist (pictured) and writer/filmmaker/TV host Mikkel Munch-Fals will be joining the Institute as new Film Commissioners. This follows Wednesday’s announced from the Norwegian Film Institute of Silje Riise Næss appointment as Film Commissioner for TV Drama and Feature Film.

Hanne Palmquist is currently Commissioning Editor for Drama and Feature Film at SVT. She joined the Swedish pubcaster in November 2013 after nearly seven years at the head of Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Prior to that, Palmquist held various positions in the Nordic industry such as producer for Fine & Mellow, Nordic Acquisition Manager for Nordisk Film and Head of PR at Zentropa.

Mikkel Munch-Fals works as an author and host of DR2 TV show ‘Nærkontakt’. He is a familiar face for Danish TV viewers for having launched and run DR2’s film show Premiere several years in a row. He has also directed several short films and the multi-awarded feature film Nothing’s All Bad. His second feature, the romantic comedy Swinger starring Martin Buch and Mille Dinesen just started filming for Meta Film.
Both Palmquist and Munch-Fals will join the DFI on September 1st, 2015. They will report to Claus Ladegaard, DFI Head of Film Support.
