The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear (Den utrolige historie om den Kæmpestore Pære) is based on Jakob Martin’s children’s book sold to 14 territories and published in eight languages. Scriptwriter Bo hr. Hansen (The Art of Crying-Speed Walking) is adapting for the screen the story of Sebastian the elephant and Mitcho the cat who embark on a journey to save the Mayor of their idyllic town of Solby who has disappeared.  In the process they uncover something that will bring great pleasure to their city - a Giant Pear.

The €3 million project is produced by Thomas Heinesen and Trine Heidegaard. Other backers besides Nordisk Film & TV Fond include the Danish Film Institute and DR. LevelK handles world sales.
