TrustNordisk has just picked up world sales on Stig Björkman’s latest documentary Ingrid Bergman-In Her Own Words featuring unique private footage and diaries from the legendary Swedish star actress The film is introduced to world buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin that started on Wednesday.

After his portrait of Ingmar Bergman in his 2010 Cannes selection …But Film is My Mistress, Björkman has made a similar usage of behind the scene materials, testaments from family and friends, combined with film clips, paying tribute to the iconic star. The production company Mantaray Film said in a statement: “Our aim is to sculpt a deeply personal film, yet a film meaningful to one and all, about the unforgettable artistry of a woman who always chose her own path”.

Alicia Vikander has lent her voice to bring the memories of Ingrid Bergman back to life, and the acclaimed Michael Nyman has written the score for the film set to open in Sweden in August 2015, when Ingrid would have turned 100. Non Stop Entertainment has Scandinavian and Baltic rights and Criterion Film US rights. The film was supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
