Do you have any application deadlines?
There are no specific application dates or deadlines to apply for support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

You can submit your application at any time.

The handling of your project will normally take 4 – 6 weeks.

How do apply?
Nordisk Film & TV Fond has a new digital application system launched April 14, 2009. This replaces our previous postal application method. Only digital applictions will be accepted.
The information we need from you are the same as before, but the digital system processes your to apply via the internet. Go to Apply Here and follow instructions.

Do you have any requirements for repayment?
Yes, the support from NFTF is to be repaid. For further information please see Guidelines under General Conditions, 4. Reimbursement.

Do I need a Nordic co-producer to be able to apply?
No, you do not need a Nordic co-producer. There are no pan-Nordic thematic requirements, national quotas, or requirements in regards to the composition of the cast and crew.

I am an English producer and we are going to shoot parts of a feature film in Norway with a major Norwegian cast and crew, can I apply Nordic Film & TV Fund?
Unfortunately not. Only Nordic production companies, distribution companies within the Nordic countries or organisers of film cultural initiatives with Nordic importance can apply the Fund.

We have pre-sold our film project to a Nordic TV company who is not part in Nordic Film & TV Fond, can we still apply?
No. The Nordisk Film & TV Fond cannot take part in the financing of projects which have been pre-sold to, or co-produced with Nordic broadcasters that are not partners of the Fund.

Can I as a Swedish distributor apply for support for cinema for a Swedish film being released in Sweden?
Unfortunately not. Only a distribution company in the Nordic country where a film from another Nordic country will be distributed can apply for cinema distribution support.

What project development support do you offer?
Development support is given in the form of top financing, primarily for feature films and TV fiction /series and to a lesser extent to documentary projects.

When I apply for support for development can I include rights and manuscript costs in the development budget?
The Fund does not cover costs related to the writing of the script before applying for development support or buy out of rights (book, play etc). However, the Fund covers further re-writing costs as part of the development process. For further information please see Guidelines under Specific conditions, 6. Support for Project Development.

Is it possible to apply for production support when principal photography has started?
You should apply Nordisk Film & TV Fond before principal shooting. It is important that the Fund is part of the financing from the beginning. However, there are exceptions to the rule and in case there is a good reason why the producer applies at a later stage the Fund will consider the application.
