It is a busy Friday night at a newly opened restaurant. Guest are eating, drinking and enjoying a carefree life, when two masked men with weapons unnoticed enter the premises. Shots are fired. And life will never be the same. 9 days earlier Nikolaj is about to take over the restaurant where he works as a chef; Jamal is trying to pass his driving test and live up to family expectations. Lisa, a famous Swedish singer, is about to start a new life with her Danish lover, and Holger, a lonely old man, is trying to end his. Ginger, a homeless girl, is battling the authorities, and Marie, an anxious 8-year-old girl, is just trying to stay close to her mother. Elisabeth, the Danish attorney general, cannot decide if she should retire to spend more time with her wife, or stay in the political game where she feels the most alive. Over the course of three weeks the lives of the eight main characters will dramatically change, and they will find themselves questioning the way they live and the choices they have made.
