Icelandic born Grimar Jónsson (photo) has joined Nordisk Film & TV Fond on March 1, as the new Project Manager, Fiction. He replaces Sigurd Mikal Karoliussen who is leaving the Fund to work as independent producer.

NFI Backs Major European Co-productions

The Norwegian Film Institute has just awarded a total of NOK39.3m (€4.8m) to three major projects including Kon-Tiki by the directing duo of Max Manus Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, (photo), produced by Nordisk Film Production AS, with UK production mogul Jeremy Thomas.

Saga Evening At Edda Awards

Saga Film's TV series The Prison Shift and feature film Mr Bjarnfredarson (photo) dominated Iceland's Edda Awards ceremony last Saturday, with six wins each. Fridrik Thor Fridriksson's Mamma Gógó supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond won three awards including Best Actress for Kristbjörg Kjeld.
