The iconic Swedish detective Martin Beck (Peter Haber) and his colleague Gunvald Larsson (Mikael Persbrandt) created by crime writers Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö will return for another eight TV movies produced by Filmlance International (The Bridge) in collaboration with Nordisk Film and TV4.

Mårten Klingberg who will direct the first two films ia also sharing the writing credits with Mikael Sýren, Antonia Pyk and Daniel Karlsson. “Beck is by far the greatest detective series in the history of TV4, and it has the most viewing records of all Swedish crime series,” stressed Åsa Sjöberg, TV4 Programme Director. The eight new Beck investigations will bring the total number of films featuring the Stockholm-based inspector to 34, making it the longest TV series in Swedish history. The new films will be released first on DVD and VOD before airing on TV4.
