Iceland’s composer/musician Jóhann Jóhannsson (pictured) scooped Best Original Score-Motion Picture for the British drama The Theory of Everything at Sunday’s Hollywood Foreign Press Golden Globe awards. 

Jóhannsson beat other top names Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Antonio Sanchez (Birdman), Mica Levi (Under the Skin) and Hans Zimmer (Interstellar). The Icelandic composer is also nominated for a BAFTA award for his score to the biopic about physicist Stephen Hawking’s relationship with his first wife. 

The Swedish film Force Majeure was nominated for a Golden Globe-Best Foreign Language Film but lost to the Russian film Leviathan
