The US group’s streaming service Shudder specialised in genre fare has acquired US/Canada first runs and UK/Ireland second runs. The deal was negotiated by Banijay Rights.

The 8x45’ fantasy thriller Black Lake is written by Ulf Kvensler, Moa Herngren, Peter Arrhenius, and Jonathan Sjöberg, and directed by Jonathan Sjöberg and David Berron. It focuses on a group of young friends and the unsettling chain of events that are set into motion when they visit an abandoned ski resort.

The show produced by Jarowskij was number 1 each week when broadcast on TV3 in 2016 and it nearly doubled the Swedish channel’s average time-slot, before moving to Viaplay.

AMC Network’s specialised brand Shudder for fans of thrillers, suspense and horror is available in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland on the web, iOS, Android, Chromecast, Apple TV and Roku for $4.99 a month or $49.99 with an annual membership.

Black Lake will first air in the UK on BBC Four later this year.
