Tine Austvoll Jensen is the broadcasting group’s new managing director.

Her colleague Eivind Landsverk becomes Nordic programme director.

Jensen replaces Harald Strømme (CEO for Norway and Sweden) who resigned three weeks ago. Since last summer, she was CFO for the group’s Nordic operations and will now concentrate on the Norwegian group and its TV portfolio including the flagship channel TVNorge, FEM, MAX and Eurosport.

Meanwhile Landsverk who was programme director for Discovery Networks Norway has been given extended responsibilities and will oversee the Nordic programme strategy as well as the production and acquisition of content across the Nordic region.

Michael Lang, president of Discovery Nordics, part of the US group Discovery Communications said: “The content that Eivind has secured for our channels in recent years is simply impressive. He has a rare ability to attract talented people and identify good ideas and good content.”

Landsverk added: “Discovery has shown a wish to invest in content, especially local content. They are also ready to take risks. Both are necessary to success in the Nordic markets. I’m therefore thrilled to steer the content strategy work in the years to come.”

The Swedish branch of Discovery Networks is in the process of recruiting a CEO following Strømme’s departure on February 10. Discovery Networks Norway’s TV Norge and Discovery Sweden’s Kanal 5 are partners in Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
