DR’s highly anticipated high end drama created by Adam Price was voted Best Work in Progress by TV Critics and world buyers on Sunday evening in Cannes.

“We are very proud and excited about the double honour,” said DR Head of Drama Piv Bernth present at the second MIPDrama Screenings, alongside Adam Price and actor Lars Mikkelsen.

The character-driven drama exploring the concept of faith and religion was one of five international TV shows running for Best Work in Progress next to seven dramas competing in the Full Episodes category. The TV Critics award for Best Full episode wen to Missions (France) and the audience award voted upon by 450 buyers went to Clique (UK). The Grand Jury picked Brazilian show Jailers for Best Full Episode and German drama Babylon Berlin for Best Work in Progress.

Ride Upon the Storm (Herrens veje) is introduced this week at MIPTV by world distributor Studiocanal. The drama produced by Camilla Hammerich (Borgen) for DR Drama was co-produced by ARTE France and SAM Le Français, with support from Nordisk Film & TV Fond. Two of ten episodes will screen as world premieres at Paris Series Mania on April 19. The domestic launch on DR1 is set for the fall 2017.
