Göteborg: Filming starts in two weeks of the third season while season 2 premieres tonight (February 2) on Sweden’s Kanal 5.

Season 3 of the thriller series exec produced by and starring Alexandra Rapaport will be directed again by Richard Holm, based on a script by Camilla Ahlgren and Martin Asphaug. Birgitta Wännström is producing for Endemol Sweden in co-production with C more and Discovery Networks Sweden. It will premiere first on C More in the fall 2017 and in the spring 2018 on Kanal 5.

Returning actors include Allan Svensson, Morgan Alling, Anja Lundqvist, Grynet Molvig, Lisette Pagler, Shebly Niavarani and Christian Svensson.

The family and crime drama originally inspired by the Dutch series Penoza has been a smash hit in Scandinavia, both on the streaming service where season 2 outperformed season 1, and on Discover Network Sweden’s Kanal 5 where more than a million viewers watched season 1, setting ratings record for a Swedish produced TV drama.

Alexandra Rapaport said:  “It is very exciting to get started with a season three after spending so much time, energy and passion on Gåsmamman during the past year. It feels fantastic that we are the same team that will continue to work together on this - we have already come a long way with the script work, and I can promise that there is much to look forward to for the fans.”

Today (February 2) the Swedish star took centre stage at Göteborg’s TV Drama Vision, together with director Richard Holm and Jon Petersson, Kanal 5 Head of Programme Controlling and Drama Commissioning as part of a case study on Gåsmamman season 1-2.

Season 2 was supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.
