Miso Film Sweden beefs up its international cast for Season 2 of its crime thriller series.

After Kim Cattrall, set to play the US president in Modus ‘s returning season, British actor Greg Wise (Sense & Sensibility, The Crown) and US actor Billy Campbell (the US The Killing, Cardinal) have boarded the eight part original C More/TV4 series.

Season 2 is adapted by celebrated Danish screenwriting duo Mai Brostrøm and Peter Thorsboe from Norwegian crime author Ann Holt’s novels about criminal psychologist Inger Johanne Vik (Melinda Kinnaman) and detective Ingvar Nymann (Henrik Norlen).

The story picks up two years after the end of Season 1 and the investigating duo are now a couple expecting a child. Greg Wise plays Warren, former FBI mentor to Inger Johanne Vik. The actor said: “Warren and Inger Johanne have a complicated past. Taking on this role was an exciting challenge, as Warren has a very dark side to him: he is the ultimate narcissist, Machiavellian and takes great delight in pushing all the boundaries. I’m sure the viewers will have no idea what to think of him. That’s the fun in playing the character.”

Billy Campbell who plays Dale Tyler, President Helen Tyler's (Cattrall) husband said: “Dale is the President's husband and confidant, but their relationship has changed over the time they've spent with each other. What binds them together now is their daughter, and a dark secret they've shared for years”.

Johanna Bergenstråhle, Acting Head of Drama at C More/TV4 said:“It feels great that we with Modus have been able to attract an international cast in the calibre of Greg Wise, Billy Campbell and, of course, Kim Cattrall; it strengthens both the drama and the international power of Modus. We have a very exciting second season that we cannot wait to share with the audience later this year.”

Modus Season 2 will premiere exclusively on the streaming service in the autumn and after on TV4.

The show produced by Miso Film Sweden’s Sandra Harms is directed by Lisa Siwe and Håkan Lindhé. Season 1 was a huge success for TV4 with an average 1.1 million linear viewers every week and a high of 1.8 million for the opening episode (between live and catch up TV).
