France’s Lagardère Studios negotiated the remake deal with DR Sales. Lagardère’s GMT Production will handle the development of the French version.

The 10x45’ show Home Ground (Heimebane) created by Johan Fasting for Motlys and NRK follows Helena Mikkelsen (Ane Dahl Torp) as she tries to make it as Europe’s first female coach for a men’s soccer team in the National Premier League in Norway.

Charlotte Toledano-Detaille, senior VP of content development at Lagardère Studios, said: “We fell in love with the series when it first launched two years ago and have been chasing it since then, following at the same time its rewards from the critics and the audience. We are together with GMT Productions very proud to adapt this series that gives a very accurate picture of a woman finding her way in a man’s world.”

DR Sales’ Maiken Maigaard said: “We are pleased that French audiences will be able to discover this unique and strong series through their own version. The series has had a high visibility across the Nordics and we are eager to see it travel ahead.”

The 10x45’ series first launched Berlinale Series in February and has travelled to several TV drama markets and festivals, including Series Mania and La Rochelle in France. It scooped three Norwegian Gullruten awards including Best TV Drama. The drama series posted more than 850,000 average combined viewers on NRK.

Season 2 supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond will premiere on NRK in February 2019.

Season 1 & 2 of Home Ground are part of the Nordic 12 distribution alliance among Nordic pubcasters.
