The period drama has been selected as opening film of the influential Biografklub association in Denmark, with a cinema release set for August 30, 2018.

With its 170,000 strong members, Biografklub Danmark is the largest cultural association in Denmark, which guaranties a solid audience base to the ten Danish and foreign films selected each year.

A Fortunate Man (Lykke Per) produced by Nordisk Film Production, is written by Anders August (The Legacy) based on Nobel prize winning author Henrik Pontoppidan’s 1898 classic novel Lykke-Per. The love story and drama tell of a young man’s difficult choices between career and family life.

In the title roles are Esben Smed (Follow the Money), Katrine Greis-Rosenthal (The Absent One), Peter Plaugborg, and Rasmus Bjerg. A four-part mini-series version will premiere on TV2 in 2019.

Katrine Vogelsand, TV2 Head of Drama says Biografklub Danmark’s selection is a great stamp of approval for A Fortunate Man which gives it ‘the opportunity to achieve greater visibility’. The series is the most ambitious fiction project ever for TV2. TrustNordisk handles world distribution.
