CANNES EXCLUSIVE: The Swedish film by rising talent Rojda Sekersöz is having its premiering at the Marché alongside the Norwegian co-production Disappearance.

Beyond Dreams (Dröm vidare) which won the Audience Dragon Award Best Nordic Film and the Swedish Church Award in Göteborg was just picked up by Berlin-based sales company Pluto Film. The film about a gang of young women, their dreams and friendship was produced 2AFilm and released mid-March in Sweden by NonStop Entertainment, backed by strong reviews. Pluto Film’s Sales and Acquisition executive told nordicfilmandtvnews.com: “We were looking for new films and Beyond Dreams attracted our attention because of the story and we liked the fact that it’s a women’s project by a debut director. We find Beyond Dreams very fresh, cool and funny, but at the same time it has drama and an important message.”

The film premieres at the Cannes market on Monday. Pluto Film is also screening the Dutch/Norwegian co-production Disappearance by Boudewijn Koole, the story of a woman – Roos - who visits her mother in Norway. Old pains and differences are gradually put aside as Roos eventually finds a way to say goodbye. In the main roles are Rifka Lodeizen, Elsie de Brauw and Jakob Oftebro.

Also on the sales company’s catalogue is the Norwegian film All the Beauty by Aasne Vaa Greibrokk, produced by Motlys.
