Iram Haq and Peter Grönlund are among the new Nordic directors in Albatros’ roster, now headed by Pontus Lenke, Martina Österling and Elin Sandström.

Set up in November 2017 by Sandström and Österling, the Stockholm-based Nordic boutique talent agency has just hired Lenke as co-managing director and legal advisor. He was previously legal expert at the Writers Guild of Sweden.

Lenke said: “Albatros Agency is an exciting company which in a short time has established itself as the obvious partner for professional screenwriters and directors in Scandinavia. I very much look forward to contributing to protecting our clients' interests and I am convinced that my extensive experience of negotiations in the film and television area will be valuable in that work.”

In less than a year, Albatros has more than doubled its client base. Besides rising star directors Iram Haq (What Will People Say) and Sweden’s Peter Grönlund (Drifters), new talents include Swedish screenwriters Inger Scharis (Swedish TV series Black Widows), Jörgen Hjerdt (Blue Eyes), Johanna Ginstmark (Hassel), Norway’s Bjørn Ekeberg (Borderliner, nominated for the 2018 Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize), and Swedish upcoming director Isabella Carbonell (Boys).

Albatros’ other established clients include Norwegian director Jens Lien (Beforeigners, Viva Hate), Swedish writer/director/Måns Herngren (Solsidan, The 101 Year-Old Man Who Skipped out on the Bill and Disappeared) and writer Peter Birro (438 Days, Waltz for Monica).

“We look forward to continuing to pushing the envelope when it comes to copyright and to strengthening the position of Scandinavian talent and rights holders, said Österling and Sandström. “We believe that the creative voice of our clients is the key to innovative storytelling and captivating content.
