Unseen Lars von Trier In Nordic Short Films Collectors DVD

Dimension, an unfinished work of 27 minutes by Lars von Trier never shown before, is one of the film jewels included in the Nordic Short Films collectors DVD, attached to the latest publications of the Nordic magazines Ekko in Denmark, Episodii in Finland, Rushprint in Norway, and Flm in Sweden. The DVD and Special Nordic issues coincide with the announcement of the 2010 Nordic Council Film Prize nominees. The initiative was supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond and the Nordic Culture Fund.

Seven TV Festival Awards To DFI Public Service Fund

Seven of the 28 awards given out last weekend during the annual TV Festivalen awards in Copenhagen, went to programmes supported by the Danish Film Institute's Public Service Fund. Those include the innovative drama documentary series De 7 drab, (photo) biggest winner of the evening with five awards, as well as the fiction series supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond, Lærkevej, voted Best Long TV Drama, and The Left Wing Gang (Blekingegade), Best Cinematography (Fiction).

Finnish filmmaker Marja Pyykkö (photo) won a Special Mention at Nordic Talents 2008 for the pitch of her debut feature Run Sister Run. Solar Films immediately came on board to produce the film.
