The three-day residential workshop NORDIC DISTRIBUTION BOOST is aimed at Nordic producers and distributors working on projects by second and third-time directors, eager to develop their marketing and distribution skills to reach audiences across the Nordics.

Six medium-sized Nordic fiction projects in development, with an international potential, will be selected for the training initiative.

This year’s group of experts who will share their know-how are Valeria Richter (Pebble/Nordic Factory Copenhagen), Copenhagen-based Freddy Neumann (Neumann PR & Strategic Communication) and UK-based John Durie (Strategic Film Marketing).

Creative producer and script consultant Valeria Richter has a long experience in audience engagement from script stage and film training, and was project coordinator of Nordisk Film & TV Fond’s Nordic Genre Boost.

Neumann is one of Scandinavia’s most established film marketing and PR specialists, and a lecturer for Dok.Inkubator.

With a background in marketing/distribution, world sales, trailer and poster production, Durie has worked on over 600 films from around the world. For the last 20 years, he has collaborated closely with European film institutes (Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Switzerland) in the creation and implementation of marketing strategies for their supported films.

Projects selected for the first NORDIC DISTRIBUTION BOOST were Denmark’s Valhalla by Fenar Ahmad (Profile Pictures), Finland’s Memory of Water by Saara Saarela (Bufo), Iceland’s A White, White Day by Hlynur Pálmason, Norway’s Beware of Children by Dag Johan Haugerud (Motlys) and The Innocents by Eskil Vogt (Mer Film), Sweden’s My Life as a Comedian by Rojda Sekersöz (Anagram) and Psychosis in Stockholm by Maria Bäck (Garagefilm International). DEADLINE TO APPLY IS 18 FEBRUARY, 2019. 13:00 (CET).
