Filmlance Int’l, Rubicon, Miso Film announce new appointments

Among the corporate moves is Håkon Briseid’s hiring as CEO at Norway’s Rubicon.

Banijay Nordic has just announced the hiring of Håkon Briseid as CEO of its Norwegian scripted label Rubicon, starting early 2022.

Briseid is currently Executive Producer at Monster where he has been responsible for international partnerships on scripted and non-scripted content. Among the top Norwegian shows he has been associated with are Nobel, Young & Promising, For Life, Pørni and upcoming Furia.

In his new position, Briseid will be responsible for ramping up Rubicon’s slate both for the Norwegian and international market. He will work alongside Rubicon’s Creative Directors Anne Bjørnstad and Eilif Skodvin and will report to Banijay Nordic’s CEO Jacob Houlind and the region’s head of scripted Johannes Jensen.

Rubicon’s current slate includes Beforeigners season 2, set to premiere later this year on WarnerMedia’s streamer HBO Max, which is bowing in the Nordics October 26.

Meanwhile Banijay’s Swedish production label Filmlance International has hired Beata Mannheimer as new Head of Production in replacement of Malini Ahlberg. She is reporting to Filmlance’ CEO Hanne Palmquist.

Mannheimer started in the film industry at the production house Göta Film. Mostly recently, she worked at Film Capital Stockholm as Operations Manager and before that as Chief Operating Officer.

One of Sweden’s most established film & TV production houses, Filmlance International just announced the adaptation of Astrid Lindgren’s best-selling book Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, into a TV series for Nent Group’s Viaplay, to be adapted by Hans Rosenfeldt.

The company is also in production with a new season of The Sandhamn Murders.

On the feature film side, the modern adaptation of Mads Wahl’s best-selling novel Vinterviken premiered this Wednesday September 8 on Netflix, while the family film Eva & Adam directed by Caroline Cowan is playing in Swedish cinemas since August 27.

Fremantle’s Miso Film Group has hired Max Hallén as Managing Director of its Swedish affiliate Miso Film Sweden, with the ambition to boost the company’s activities in Sweden.D
Hallén who is replacing producer Sandra Harms, will be joining the major Scandinavian powerhouse from his current position as director of Business at C More/TV4. He will report to the group’s co-founders Peter Bose and Jonas Allen.

Miso Film Sweden’s upcoming productions include HBO Max Original’s series Lust starring Sofia Helin, and Nent Group’s crime series Cell 8 based on Roslund & Hellström’s best-selling novels.

After its Netflix hit The Rain, Miso Film has partnered the US giant streamer with another YA sci-fi series, but in the comedy genre: Blasted, currently in post-production.
