The partnership between Rikke Ennis’s packaging, sales and financing group REinvent Studios, the Northern Norway’s regional film fund FilmCamp and local production outfit Shuuto Arctic, is an extension of their successful collaboration on the crime show Outlier, sold to HBO Nordic and Global Series Network in the U.K. among others.

As part of the agreement, REinvent will act as co-producer and secure the financing to four upcoming series, to be shot in Norway’s Arctic regions of Troms and Finmark for production outfit Shuuto Arctic.

The company’s co-managing directors – novelist, rock musician and showrunner Arne Berggren, and writer/producer Kristine Berg said: “REinvent is not just another sales agent. They are always on top of things and available. They understand the creative processes and the real challenges of developing and producing in an authentic environment. REinvent inspires us greatly and we feel our projects are in safe hands with them, as they have the very best knowledge of the international market.”

“One of the primary purposes of REinvent is to create long-term partnerships like this with Shuuto Arctic and FilmCamp,” added Ennis. “We contribute with insights from the international landscape, and Arne and Kristine are formidably good at adapting to the swiftly changing media landscape, which is crucial for success today. It will be a pleasure to continue this course with projects such as Catch and Release and many more.”

REinvent’s Sales & Marketing Director Helene Aurø underlined that Shuuto’s content “meets the demand from the international market.” “We will have a slate of Nordic noir series that can travel and where the local story and authenticity is key,” she said.

Created and directed by Berggren and Berg, together with Maggi Bergheim, Catch and Release is currently filming at FilmCamp’s former military camp in Målselv.

The 8x43’ series follows a group of people from a small village in Northern Norway, whose lives are turned upside down when a brutal murder is committed. Among the suspects is Mira Hildonen (17), who escapes from the murder scene with a shotgun in her hands.

In the title roles are rising talent Kristine Hartgen who plays the title role in the upcoming major WW2 drama Narvik, Aggie Frost and Mathilde Sofie Henriksen who both starred in Harald Zwart’s The 12th Man, Anitta Suikkari (Midnight Sun), and Espen Mauno.

The thriller commissioned by telco operator Altibox, will be delivered later this year.

The next series in the four-title agreement will be the female-led crime Cold Revenge co-directed by Berggren and Berg.
